Recruiters Get Rejected Too

Hi Pretty Human!

Recently, I was rejected by a candidate.

Yes, even us recruiters get rejected too.

Most of the time, a candidate will email me telling me they’re not interested and withdrawing.

This time, the candidate called me.

I’ll admit, I was excited to see their name pop up on Teams.

The candidate started with how much they enjoyed getting to know everyone and the support I gave but unfortunately, decided to accept another offer.

Was I bummed? Of course, I’m human, I’m selfish in that sense. The candidate would have been great in this role.

Was I happy for them? Absolutely, this is a tough job market and to have multiple job offers is incredible.

It’s nothing personal. Recruiting never should be.

My job is to fill positions with top talent but…
