Networking CAN Open Doors
Good morning/afternoon/evening Pretty Human!
The last year plus, I’ve seen more and more posts on LinkedIn with people struggling to network.
Recently, I came across a LinkedIn post where this person was beyond frustrated with the market and recruiters.
If you’re struggling to get a response while you network, think about the message you’re sending.
I’ve been receiving more and more, “help me find a job.”
The tough truth is, that’s not my job to do that.
The tougher truth is, that’s not really networking either
My job is to fill roles that Awin’s hiring for in the United States, Brazil and Mexico.
Instead, send a message like:
“Good morning ______,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my message, it’s wonderful to meet you. I recently applied to Y & very excited about the opportunity a B company. Reading the job description, I understand you are looking for A, B, C. I have X years of experience & can bring a wealth of knowledge with my direct experience in A, B, C. Particularly, what excited me about B company is 1, 2, 3. I have attached my resume & look forward to discussing more about the opportunity.
I look forward to hearing from you!
xxxx”
I’ve had some incredible opportunities come my way the last 6 months from my visibility and networking.
It does happen.
You want to be intentional now more than ever with your messaging.
I try my best to respond to everyone.
But those who are intentional, looked at our job board, and gave me a snippet about them, have a higher chance of me responding to them because they took the time and I can clearly see their interest.
Putting yourself out there is hard and scary, but you can do it! 🫶🏻
